BT Headquarters based in Adastral Park, Ipswich is one of Heatworks more high profile clients.
In March 2022 Heatworks were awarded the contract to replace the decommissioned Trigen, Combined Cooling and Heating Plant (CCHP).
After being issued with pre-construction information Heatworks began the stripping out process which included draining and cleaning engine oil and chemical spillage from the CCHP enclosure using chemicals to wash walls and floor.
Once the strip out and wash down process was complete, Heatworks then set about installing 2No new 1000 kw Trane temporary chillers on the site of the old CCHP enclosures, along with 2No new 2MW plate heat exchangers located in the adjacent Trigen plantroom.
The existing plantroom was scanned, a point cloud image created and BIM 3D model generated. Heatworks BIM department were able to coordinate the new installation with the existing plant and services allowing full coordination with minimal disruption to existing plant and services.
